Places to See
Goa’s beauty lies in its hidden corners — villages where time slows, Baroque churches, riverside palaces, colonial lanes and fortresses. Below you’ll find a curated map of places to wander, pause and absorb.
Velha Goa
The grand, abandoned Portuguese capital was once a thriving city of the empire. Velha (Old) Goa is now a hauntingly beautiful treasure of crumbling convents and soaring world-heritage churches.

Panjim & Fontainhas (Latin Quarter)
When disease struck Old Goa in the 17th century, the Portuguese moved their capital downriver, founding Nova Goa — today’s Panjim. With the empire in decline, stones and timber from Old Goa were reused to build the new city, giving Panjim a soul literally crafted from the ruins of its past.
